How do psychology and pain go together?
Did you know there is an area of psychology called “pain psychology”? It is the role of this area of treatment to determine how chronic pain and the mind work. The common misconception though, is that chronic pain should be treated by solely by a psychiatrist or psychologist. This is simply not true. The treatment of chronic pain should be a team approach, with everyone working together to help the patient take back as much of their life, physically and mentally, as possible.
